Do writers have to write new fics for the event?

Writers do NOT have to write new fics! You can use already finished/published fics to address the prompts and questions! You can pick and choose what prompts you want to address. You can talk about any and all of your fics if you want to! If you want to write new fics to address the prompts, you can, however it is not necessary! Share with us what you've been doing for the fandom already!

Will there be a tumblr associated with this event?

Will there be an Ao3 collection?

When will we know prompts and dates?

How will small writers be highlighted?

Our goal is to give every writer a chance to highlight their fics. Readers will be encouraged to show some love to smaller writers and rare pair writers. We also encourage smaller and shy writers to participate in the event as well. Share anything and everything about your writing so the official twitter can promote you, too.

What will be the point of retrospring/curiouscat?

Readers, fans, and other writers can ask general questions that writers can qrt and respond to. The official twitter will retweet and share your thoughts. You do not need to create your own retrospring or curiouscat for the event! The official twitter will have either one for people to send general questions and comments for writers to respond to.

How will harassment be handled?

We will not tolerate harassment of any kind! We encourage anyone participating in the event to not engage with instigators of disrespectful behavior. The official twitter will block anyone who is not respectful to writers.

How will ship wars be handled?

This is a general event promoting writers for all genres and all ships. We will not promote ship hate/negativity or discourse. If there are ships you do not enjoy, please mute words or block creators that make you uncomfortable. Instigators will be blocked by the official twitter account.

What about antis?

This is a proship, profiction, anticensorship event that celebrates fanfic writers. We will not tolerate harassment, bullying, or hate of writers in any capacity. We are asking antis to not interact or they will be blocked.

Will NSFW and dead dove be allowed?

Yes, NSFW and dead dove content are allowed for this event! We are an 18+ event. Please block and do not engage with minors. Any user that is causing problems throughout the event will be blocked by the official twitter.

What if we have more suggestions for the event?

Tell us! We will always be open to suggestions on making this event fun for you! The mods are followed on the official twitter. Reach out to us through message or when our question system is set up.

Below will be more specific information about how to participate in the event that is coming up in July!

1. You are allowed to post as many times as you want for as many prompts as you want for as many days that you want. If there are days that don't interest you or you don't have a fic for, you don't have to do that day OR create anything for that day (unless you want to, new works will happily be accepted). Readers can make as many posts about as many fics or writers that they want to; talking about your favorite fic or fic writers is strongly encouraged!
2. The event twitter (tumblr and bluesky) and the mods will retweet as many posts as we can. We will prioritize the main themes of the day, but you can do late posts or any promotions that you want to. Don't feel discouraged if your post doesn't get recognition on the same day, we will do our best to make sure everyone gets their spotlight even after the event is finished.
3. If you have completed thread fics, tumblr fics, ao3 fics, etc., please also provide a link to the post (if you want to! If you don't then that's fine!). We want to allow people to take a look at the fic or the writers!
4. If you have any other prompts or ideas that go with a specific theme for the day, you can send them to our retrospring (found on the home page). We'll post the questions or prompts and allow writers to qrt with their responses!
5. Artists: We encourage you to draw for your favorite fics or favorite writers! If there is a concern whether or not a writer would appreciate this, you are free to contact them and ask!
6. "Collab" will be the theme for Thursdays! This will include showcasing any fanfics with multiple writers, role play fics, and any big bangs/exchange fics/art that have been done for any event. Tell us about your favorite collaboration pieces.
7. You can do NSFW, dead dove, or SFW for any of the prompts listed. If you are posting a snippet with an actual kink/dead dove theme written, please add a spoiler tag or TW tag, and/or censor the image.
8. The event is hoping to facilitate giving out more comments for our lovely fanfic writers. Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated days to showcasing the fics you've been commenting on! Share the link of the fic so others can check it out!
